Avoid Sunlight and Pollutants

Too much sun can damage your upholstery fabric, causing it to fade and even fray. Try to position it so that it is not exposed to the sun for extended periods of time.

Airborne pollutants such as fumes from cooking or smoke can also harm your fabric. It is not always easy to avoid this happening, however, proper ventilation can help. It can also help with odour control over the long term.

Avoid the use of paints, inks, nail polish, and Mercurochrome (Antiseptic dyes) around your mattress and bedding products since they are designed to alter colour and will stain.

Try not to leave newspapers lying on your mattress or bedding; ink can stain the cover.
