DIRECTIONS FOR USE

  1. To avoid stains, the Leather Aid Exotic Cleaner MUST NOT be used directly on any full grain or buffed leather  surface or covering, that has not FIRST been protected using the Leather Aid Exotic Leather Protection product. The use of this cleaner product may cause stains or damage on any unprotected surface.
  2. Shake the bottle well.
  3. First unlock the trigger, then spray the Leather Aid Exotic Leather Cleaner liberally onto a sponge and squeeze until foaming.
  4. Once foaming, apply cleaner gently and in circular movements, focusing on one soiled area of your leather at a time.
  5. Proceed to wipe off the Exotic Leather Cleaner product rinsing the cloth regularly with water.
  6. Repeat as necessary, making sure to remove any excess product.
  7. Make sure to test on a hidden area first to determine suitability of the product on the surface.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

  1. Use in a well-ventilated area and do not inhale vapours.
  2. It is recommended that a SANS approved face mask is worn prior to application.
  3. Prior to application, the product must be tested on a hidden area on the item to be protected first, to determine suitability and to ensure no further risk of damage to the item.
  4. Apply to new or clean leather only.
  5. Spray evenly with an overlap holding the nozzle approximately 25cm-30cm away from the item.
  6. Apply 2 coats of Leather Aid Exotic Protection to the item, ensuring proper coverage and allow to dry for 30 – 45 minutes between coats.
  7. Ready for use in 3 – 5 hours.

 

PRECAUTIONS

  • The efficacy of the protection treatment could be compromised if surfaces are soiled.
  • This product could stain certain porous materials and/or corrode certain metals.
  • Do not mix with other incompatible substances unless recommended by the manufacturer.

The products supplied to you in this comprehensive cleaning and protection kit comprise all the products you will require in undertaking to professionally care for and maintain your buffed / absorbent Leather furniture investment!

Beautiful natural and buffed leather coverings display a look like no other type of furnishing. To best preserve the look of your Exotic Leather it is important to regularly clean and protect the surface.

Common problems with Exotic leathers are staining, colour transfer and damages from use which can affect the make-up of the surface.

Step 1: Wipe the buffed / Exotic Leather with a slightly damp cloth. This process is effective in removing dust particles buried in the pores of the surface. Allow to air dry naturally.

Step 2: Stain Protection – Now that you have taken delivery of your new furniture, it is very important that the Leather Aid Exotic Protector product be used. Its special formula is extremely effective and will help prevent water and oil-based stains being absorbed into the leather surface. Be sure to perform proper spray coverage on the leather every (3-4) months or when required, this will ensure that your leathers retain their original appearance in colour and performance for maximum use and enjoyment.

Step 3: The Leather Aid Exotic Cleaner product provided in this kit should be applied to your leather surfaces every 3-4 months, or when required. Please ensure the instructions on the product are carefully followed.

Remember – After cleaning any possible dirt or stains be sure to re-protect your leather upholstery with Leather Aid Exotic Protector to re-instate optimal stain protection.

Avoid Sunlight and Pollutants

  • Too much sun can damage the leather, causing it to fade and harden with time. Try to position it so that it doesn’t sit in the sun for extended periods of time.
  • Keep your Exotic Leather investment away from heat. Heat will cause the upholstery surface to dry-out resulting in cracking over time. Position your furniture at least 30cm away from any heat source.
  • Stains from dye transfer can be difficult to remove. Always make sure throws and scatter cushions are colourfast before placing them on your Exotic Leather furniture. Stains from dye transfer are very common on absorbent leather and are most common on lighter colours.

  3. Apply the Leather + PU Preserver product sparingly onto the surface, focusing on one area of your furniture at a time.
  4. Using a soft cloth spread evenly and leave to settle for a few minutes.
  5. Proceed to hand polish / buff with a clean cloth, making sure to remove any excess product.
  6. Apply 4-6 times annually for optimum results.

Step 2: Apply Leather Aid Leather + PU Cleaner per the instructions on the bottle. Work the sponge onto the surface in a circular motion. This process allows the surface to breathe and retain its soft pliable texture.

For more stubborn dirt, use a soft bristle brush with the Leather + PU cleaner and gently scrub in a circular motion over the area. Whilst the area is still damp, wipe the surface with a soft cloth to remove any leftover residue. Apply 3-4 times annually.

Step 3: Apply Leather Aid Leather + PU Preserver per the instructions on the bottle. Using the microfibre cloth, lightly work the product onto the Leather + PU ensuring the entire surface is well covered. Once dry the surface can be buffed for extra sheen. This product provides a vital invisible barrier of protection helping to shield and protect your furniture from wear and tear. Apply 3-4 times annually.
